Daniel Jones ruled out vs. Dolphins due to neck injury

Daniel Jones will not play for the New York Giants vs. the Miami Dolphins due to a neck injury.

After eking out a win last week vs. the division rival Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Giants will be up against it vs. the Miami Dolphins, as starting quarterback Daniel Jones has officially been ruled out with a neck injury.

While there was some doubt over Jones’ overall availability entering this game, Joe Judge ruling him out on Friday morning signifies that it will be Mike Glennon under center for the G-Men. At 4-7 on the season, the Giants are running out of time to stay alive in the NFC East race. As for Miami,   back-to-back wins over the two New York City teams at home will have the Dolphins back at .500.

This is a tough blow for the Giants, but one Miami has no choice but to take advantage of as well.

While this may only be a week-to-week injury for Jones, we do wonder what type of offseason the Giants will undergo. There have been instances where the Giants play hard under head coach Joe Judge, but there have been others where the team cannot get out of its own way. They already fired offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, and general manager Dave Gettleman could be next.

Ultimately, the Giants dropping what could have been a winnable game to Miami only accelerates yet another rebuilding effort in The Big Apple. It has been a long time since the Giants played winning, complementary football. If the Giants look terrible vs. the Dolphins, many people’s fates within this organization may already be decided before Jones is healthy enough to return to form.

While anything can happen in the NFL, it is hard to see the Giants winning a game without Jones.
