LOOK: USC football fans boldly tailgating outside Pac-12 Championship Game Trojans aren’t in
USC football couldn’t have been further away from making it into the Pac-12 Championship Game this year but that didn’t stop Trojan fans from turning up.
What do you do when you bought tickets for a postseason game that your team didn’t get to?
Go anyways.
A group of USC football fans followed that philosophy as Utah and Oregon fans geared up to watch their teams face off in Las Vegas for the conference crown.
The Trojans set up their tent in the parking lot and joined in the festivities.
USC football fans turned up to the Pac-12 title game
It’s been a strange year to be a USC fan. The Trojans fired head coach Clay Helton after a blowout loss to Stanford just two games into the season.
Despite the early firing, Trojan fans might have expected a decent season to still unfold. After all, the last time they fired a head coach midseason they went to the Pac-12 title game in 2015.
Of course, things didn’t play out anything like that. USC stumbled and bumbled through a miserable season featuring multiple embarrassing losses at home.
In the end, a few weeks of suffering were worth it. The Trojans swung for the fences by hiring Oklahoma’s Lincoln Riley to lead the program going forward.
They may not get to watch USC in the Pac-12 Championship Game this year but those fans have plenty of reasons to celebrate this week.
