The Iowa Hawkeyes were introduced by WWE champion Big E for the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are ranked 13th in the nation entering their biggest game of the season so far — the Big Ten Championship Game. The one team standing in their way of winning their first Conference Championship Game are the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines, who could clinch a College Football Playoff spot with a win.

Prior to the Hawkeyes emerging from the tunnels of Lucas Oil Stadium, they were introduced by school alum and current WWE Champion Big E.

Prior to becoming a professional wrestler and a top champion in WWE, Big E was a defensive lineman for the Hawkeyes.

Ettore Ewen joined the program in 2004, but numerous injuries limited him to just 11 games played in the 2006 season, where he recorded 14 total tackles. He missed the entirety of the 2004 and 2005 seasons due to torn ACL’s.

In his professional wrestling career, Big E is a former six-time SmackDown Tag Team Champion, a two-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time RAW Tag Team Champion,  a one-time NXT Champion and a one-time FCW Florida Tag Team Champion.

On Sept. 19, Big E won the WWE Championship after cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase and defeated Bobby Lashley on an episode of Monday Night Raw.
