The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs will play the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 SEC Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA.
With potentially two College Football Playoff berths on the line, the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs will take on the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 SEC Championship Game.
Georgia enters play at 12-0, winners of the SEC East and one of two undefeated teams left in the country. The Dawgs may want to win this game to knock their perpetual nemesis out of the playoff picture, but Georgia is getting into the big dance no matter what happens. As far as Alabama is concerned, the one-loss SEC West champion needs to win this one to get even in.
With this being a matchup for the ages, where is the 2021 SEC Championship Game being played?
2021 SEC Championship Game is played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta
As it is every year, the SEC Championship takes place in Atlanta, Georgia. Since 2017, Mercedes-Benz Stadium has been home to this one-of-a-kind title bout. With this being the first conference championship game ever created at the FBS level, it has been played out in Atlanta every year since 1994. The first two SC title bouts took place at Legion Field over in Birmingham, Alabama.
Throughout the College Football Playoff era, the winner of this game in Atlanta makes the four-team field. This will be the case once again, no matter who proves victorious between the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide. While the SEC West champion has won this game for the better part of two decades, Georgia did beat Auburn in this same stadium four years ago to get in.
For the foreseeable future, the SEC Championship will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
