Alabama football fans react to making the 2022 College Football Playoff as the No. 1 seed.
After dismantling Georgia in the 2021 SEC Championship game, Nick Saban’s Alabama football program has earned once again another top seed in the College Football Playoff.
Though a close loss to Georgia may have gotten the Crimson Tide in anyway, Alabama left no doubt. The crushed Kirby Smart’s team badly yet again in Atlanta, 41-24. This propelled the previous No. 3 team in the nation all the way to the top overall seed. With two more wins over quality teams, the Crimson Tide will be back-to-back College Football Playoff National Champions.
No. 1 Alabama will face the No. 4 Cincinnati Bearcats in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year’s Eve for their national semifinal game.

While most college football fans expect a close game in the Orange Bowl, Alabama is expected to blow out Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl.

Big smile and a chuckle. “They’re pretty good."
Georgia will beat Michigan easily and Alabama is sending Cincy to hell

A lot of people really do not want to see a rematch between Alabama and Georgia in the national championship, but that all depends on how Michigan and Cincinnati play them in the national semifinals.
Alabama vs Cincinnati is not gonna be fun to watch..

Alabama has had the No.1 recruiting class — according to @247Sports composite — 6 times since start of #CFP in 2014.

Alabama is gonna win the championship

Selection committee chairman Gary Bauta says the committee gave no thought to avoiding a Georgia-Alabama rematch in the semifinals, it just worked out that way when they arranged the seeding, and I'm sure everyone believes him.

Ultimately, Alabama crushed the No. 1 team in the nation and embarrassed Georgia once again. Winning the SEC that convincingly made it a guarantee that Alabama would climb up to the No. 1 spot.

The committee screwed this up. No one wants to see Alabama kill Cincinnati. No one really really wants to see a Georgia-Alabama rematch. Worse playoffs in the history of college football.@finebaum @ESPNBooger @CFBPlayoff @LateKickJosh @SECNetwork @mspears96 pic.twitter.com/MY6kEBndDm

Overall, Alabama should be the favorite to win the national championship, as the Crimson Tide’s pathway to the title bout is considerably the easiest. Cincinnati has been a great story, but the Bearcats are probably no match for Alabama in the Cotton Bowl. While Georgia or Michigan could potentially beat them, they have a doozy against each other in the Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens.
Alabama fans should have every reason to celebrate getting the top seed in the playoff this year.
