Oregon reportedly requests interview with BYU’s Kalani Sitake
Now, it is a matter of Sitake accepting the interview request.
Sitake has been in the Pac-12 for quite some time, dating back to his time serving as linebackers coach, defensive coordinator and associate head coach at Utah from 2005 until 2014. Then, he signed on to be associate head coach and defensive coordinator with Oregon State in 2015 before taking the BYU head coaching job in 2016.
During his time at BYU, Sitake owns an overall record of 48-28. Sitake went 3-1 in bowl games with BYU, with their most recent victory coming in the Boca Raton Bowl, defeating the UCF Knights 49-23.
This season, the Cougars are 10-2, where they are scheduled to face the UAB Blazers in the Independence Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 18.
Again, it will remain to be seen if Sitake will go for the interview with Oregon. Passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon has been named the interim head coach for the Ducks in their upcoming Alamo Bowl game against the Oklahoma Sooners on Dec. 29.
