Packers: How Green Bay can clinch a playoff berth this week
With the Green Bay Packers cruising this season, Aaron Rodgers and Co. could lock in their playoff spot this weekend.
After the nightmare loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game last winter, Aaron Rodgers is clearly motivated to get back to the Super Bowl and remind people that he’s still one of the best quarterbacks out there.
Well, Rodgers can take things one step closer to the Lombardi Trophy this weekend by helping Green Bay lock in their postseason spot with a few weeks to spare. So, how can Rodgers do that?
Here’s how the Packers can lock in their playoff spot this week
While it’s a bit tricky, Green can make things official this weekend if they were to beat the Chicago Bears during Sunday Night Football. On top of that, Green would need the Saints to either lose or tie, plus a 49ers loss. That’s not it, though. With a New Orleans loss or tie, Green Bay would also be in with a Rams loss and San Francisco tie.
As you can see, there are plenty of scenarios in play here. At the end of the day, Green Bay isn’t worried about what happens with New Orleans, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Instead, the team’s sole focus is on the huge NFC North rivalry game with the Chicago Bears this Sunday night.
This is the first time Rodgers will meet the Bears after he told fans in Chicago, ‘I still own you’ from the first meeting of the year. That’s something no one has forgotten about. Come Week 14, Rodgers, fresh off a bye, will once again look to dominate Chicago and light up Lambeau Field. Countless folks can’t wait for that big-time contest to arrive.
