The Minnesota Vikings are still reeling from the embarrassing loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday in the Motor City.

People in Detroit are still talking about the unreal win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Just when it looked like the Lions were going to remain winless on the year, Jared Goff delivered with a walk-off touchdown.

While there was sheer jubilation for Detroit, things were the complete opposite on the other side of the field. For defensive back Xavier Woods, he didn’t mince words on Tuesday when describing how unhappy he was with how things unfolded.

Xavier Woods said the Vikings simply didn’t execute on the last play vs. the Lions

If you ask Woods, everyone was set up in the right place, but the defense as a whole just didn’t execute. That’s brutal and there’s really no excuse for things. The fact that Detroit was able to drive down the field with ease and then give Goff plenty of time to find an open man with the game on the line is something that has folks in Minnesota furious.

Folks have even been calling for Mike Zimmer to be fired. After going 7-9 last year and missing the postseason, Minnesota is now 5-7 this season. They need to turn things around in a big way if they want to grab an NFC Wild Card spot. Right now, it feels like there’s virtually no chance they chase down the Packers for the NFC North crown.

This loss to the Lions could end up haunting them for a long time. For Zimmer, it could prove to be what lands him on the unemployment line this winter. All in all, the Week 13 loss was a nightmare and it could have been prevented so easily.

Next. Vikings fans will want to fire Mike Zimmer even more after his explanation for Lions loss. dark
