Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers offers an update on his fractured toe injury following their Week 13 bye week.

During the Packers bye week, Aaron Rodgers asked the team for permission to leave Green Bay before a Week 14 game against the Chicago Bears.

Why? Rodgers was seeking a second opinion on his fractured toe, traveling to Los Angeles over the weekend to meet with an orthopedic doctor, Dr. Neil ElAttrache.

Rodgers explained the situation on The Pat McAffee Show on Tuesday during his weekly segment on the show.

Rodgers explained that he “went out to LA to get a second opinion” on his toe, merely because this is a common practice in trying to optimize treatment for any ailment. Complimenting his doctor in Wisconsin, Rodgers elaborated on the “fantastic” doctors in Los Angeles. When co-host A.J. Hawk joked if Rodgers made a third stop in Austin, TX (where friend Joe Rogan lives), Rodgers laughed along and said he wasn’t able to visit “just yet.” Rodgers then joked about how UFC president Dana White seems to be improving after he contracted COVID-19 and consulted with Rogan on treatment.

All jokes aside, Rodgers confirmed that “there was nothing revolutionary” happening with his fractured toe, but “the toe is improving.”

The uplifting news here for Packers fans is that Rodgers’ toe hasn’t worsened since their Week 12 win over the Los Angeles Rams. With an extra week of healing happening over the bye week, Rodgers has 14 additional days of recovery.

While Rodgers wished he had another bye week to heal, it seems his toe is doing just fine. From the looks of Rodgers’ Twitter avatar, it seems he’s ready to put the fractured/COVID toe discussion well behind him as the Packers head to the playoffs.
