2022 NFL Mock Draft: Michigan star drafted by Lions No. 1 overall

Picks No. 19 through 22
The Miami Dolphins hold the No. 19 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft in this mock, which is the selection they got from the San Francisco 49ers. Miami is a team that is on the rise, and Tua Tagovailoa looks like a real starting quarterback at the NFL level, which is huge for this franchise.
Holding pick No. 19 overall, the Dolphins decide to bring in a player to help their defensive line, adding USC edge rusher Drake Jackson. Jackson is a guy who I believe will be a double-digit sack player at the next level, and Miami needs to bring in more players who can bring the pressure off the edge.
Pick No. 20 belongs to the Washington Football Team, who are all of a sudden one of the hottest teams in football. Washington has won four straight games, including a huge road win against the Las Vegas Raiders this past Sunday, and is currently a playoff team in the NFC.
Taylor Heinicke looks like the real deal at quarterback and is someone they should build this franchise around. With this pick, they add a player to put in front of him, bringing in Ikem Ekwonu, a versatile offensive lineman from NC State who can play up and down the line in Washington.
The Buffalo Bills battled it out against the New England Patriots on Monday night in a crucial game for both franchises. While the Bills were on the losing end of that matchup, they are still in the thick of things in the AFC Playoff hunt and are a team many expect to challenge for a Super Bowl appearance this season.
Looking ahead, the Bills have to do something to improve upfront along the offensive line, as they have their quarterback and star running back in place. Trevor Penning from Northern Iowa is a player who could start on the right or left side at the next level, and the Bills have a lack of depth at the offensive tackle position.
Pick No. 22 belongs to the Cincinnati Bengals, who are fighting for not only a spot in the playoffs but a chance to win the AFC North. This past weekend, they were pasted by the Los Angeles Chargers, another AFC Playoff contender, and did see quarterback Joe Burrow go down with another injury.
Still, this Bengals team is solid, and they will likely be picking late in the first round of the draft. With the pick, they selected Cincinnati cornerback Ahmad Gardner, keeping the Bearcat in-state, and bolstering their secondary in the process.
