48. Les Richter
The Rams linebacker was one of the best of the 1950s. Richter was an eight-time Pro Bowler in his nine year career. While the Rams never won an NFL Championship in Richter’s time with the team, he was one of the best defensive players of his era. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011.
49. Bobby Mitchell
Mitchell was one of the most dynamic players of the late 1950s and 1960s. He led the NFL in receiving yards in consecutive years in 1962 and ‘63. In 1964, he led the league with 10 receiving touchdowns. Mitchell finished his career with almost 8,000 receiving yards and over 2,700 rushing yards. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1983.
50. Mike Singletary
The crazy-eyed linebacker that led one of the best defenses ever is easily the best No. 50 of all time. The 10-time Pro Bowler also won two Defensive Player of the Year awards. He was one of the most feared tacklers of his day, and was the best defender for the legendary 1985 Bears defense that won the Super Bowl.
51. Dick Butkus
Butkus is the second of back to back Bears linebackers on the list. The eight-time Pro Bowler was one of the hardest hitters of his day, and is a member of the All-Decade teams for both the 1960s and ‘70s. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1979.
