The Chiefs D will allow a season-low rushing total

Kansas City’s defense has sorted out most of their problems over the last few weeks, holding opponents during their five-game win streak to 14 points or less. The improvement has been the most important part of the team’s turnaround.

Over the last two games against the Cowboys and Broncos, they did give up five yards per carry, including a 154-yard day for Denver on the ground. Still, those numbers should be no concern against the Raiders.

Las Vegas just put running back Kenyan Drake on injured reserve so they’ll really only have Josh Jacobs to lean on in the backfield.

Already the Chiefs have shown they can shut down the Raiders’ rushing attack. When they last met, quarterback Derek Carr led the team with 18 yards on the ground. Jacobs and Drake combined for 32 yards.

That Week 10 meeting between KC and LV was the best showing for the Chiefs rush defense all year. Look for them to do one better by holding the Raiders to a rushing total below the 50 they gained in November.
