Tottenham transfer news, Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte was brought in to usher in big changes for Tottenham. Here are five bold predictions on how Spurs will change in January.

Tottenham are locked in the midst of a tense COVID crisis at the moment, but Spurs officials know that the current controversy can’t slow down their big plans for the upcoming January transfer window. Antonio Conte was brought to North London to win silverware and the current squad available to him isn’t up to par.

That doesn’t mean Tottenham will be able to achieve all of their long-term squad goals next month. January is a notoriously difficult month to get seismic deals over the line. Spurs will likely be forced to work around the margins rather than really make any significant changes to their starting XI.

It still should be a busy transfer window for the Premier League club. Here are five bold predictions on how things will go down for Spurs once the January window opens in a few short weeks.

5. Jack Clarke will be loaned out

Clarke has failed to meet expectations since his arrival at the club and is in desperate need of first team football to kick start his career. That isn’t going to happen for him at Tottenham anytime soon.

That’s why Clarke is going to be sent out again on loan in January. Look for the pacy winger to find his way into a decent situation at a Championship club that plays a style of play that Tottenham find to be suitable and appealing. He probably won’t ever make an impact at Spurs, but the club need him to show his wares elsewhere to boost his transfer value for a future sale.
