1. Hugo Lloris will sign a new contract

Lloris continues to play at a high level for Tottenham despite his advancing age. The Frenchman is out of contract this summer, but Conte hasn’t made any secret about his desire to see his captain extend his stay in North London.

That makes January the perfect time to extend Lloris’ contract. It won’t be a long-term deal, but giving him another couple of seasons of security should be enough to get Lloris to put pen to paper. He wants to see out his career in France, but he won’t return to his home country while he’s still in his prime.

In a perfect world, Spurs would swap Lloris for a keeper who is better with the ball at his feet, but his exceptional shot-stopping skills more than make up for his distribution problems. He’s still the best goalie Tottenham can have at the moment without spending a fortune in the transfer market.

Simply put, Spurs have bigger objectives to fill in the transfer market without adding keeper to the list. A two-year contract extension with Lloris should suit all parties involved.
