And absolutely no one is surprised about that.
Youngās Heisman victory was a foregone conclusion by the time the Heisman ceremony came around on Saturday night. Even so, college football media showered the Alabama quarterback with all his due praise.

*Alabama is 6th school to win Heisman in back-to-back years
*Alabama joins 2004-05 USC and 1944-45-46 Army as only times one school had multiple top-5 finishers in back-to-back years
*Nick Saban joins Frank Leahy as only coaches of 4 winners
Alabama, which didnāt have any Heisman winners prior to 2009, has now produced four of the last 13 Heisman winners, including three of the last seven and each of the last two

There was some argument for the other candidates in the national media.
If you look hard at Aidan Hutchinson's role in Michigan's rise this season, he was slightly more valuable than Bryce Young was to Bama. He'll almost certainly be the draft's No.-1 pick. I'm not saying Bryce shouldn't win the Heisman - he will. But "Hutch" has been way underrated.

Bryce Young: best player in college football.

Kenny Pickett: most important player in college football.
The Heisman would have been great for Pickett and Pitt, but itās just a popularity contest. We all know that Pickett was the most consistently excellent player in the country. He will be remembered as a Pitt legend, and thatās pretty great, too, because Pitt fans never forget.

Young was the favorite to win the Heisman after he led Alabamaās demolition of Georgiaās usually outstanding defense in the SEC Championship Game. The quarterback put up 421 yards and threw three touchdown passes while scoring another on the ground in the 41-24 victory.
All told this season, Young threw for 4,322 yards and 43 touchdowns. He completed 68 percent of his passes and had just four interceptions all year. His passer rating was 17.53.
Young is the second consecutive Alabama star to win the Heisman. He followed in the footsteps of wide receiver DeVonta Smith, who won the award last year.
Smith also won a national title before his career with the Crimson Tide was up. Young will try to do the same with Alabama set to face Cincinnati in the College Football Playoff semifinal on New Yearās Eve.
