3 coaches Jaguars need to replace Urban Meyer with to save Trevor Lawrence
By Ethan Lee
Brian Daboll
The Buffalo Bills have a fun offense and Brian Daboll has plenty of experience with a multitude of NFL franchises. He’s been a member of coaching staffs that have been in Super Bowls and he’s helped the Alabama Crimson Tide win the College Football Playoff.
Why not go out and bring him in to help Lawrence and the Jaguars?
While the Bills’ offense wasn’t able to shine against the New England Patriots because of dreadful weather conditions, that would almost certainly never be the case with him on the sidelines in Jacksonville.
Plus, to state the obvious, having Lawrence operate Daboll’s schemes would be fun for everyone. That pairing could lead to a lot of yards, a lot of points, and maybe even a lot of wins.
Add in the fact that Daboll has coached under both Bill Belichick and Nick Saban, it’s hard to find many guys who could potentially be a better fit for a head coaching job right now. He’s been able to learn from some of the best and has a fun offense. What’s not to like?
Eric Bieniemy
Who should be the top option for Jacksonville if they decide to move on from Meyer?
The guy who should probably be the top option for any team that has a head coaching vacancy and also a young, talented quarterback. That’d be Eric Bieniemy, the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bieniemy has been able to work with Patrick Mahomes, arguably the best quarterback in the NFL at the moment. While Mahomes is a transcendent talent in his own right and has a wealth of talented offensive weapons around him, Bieniemy’s offense also helps put Mahomes in position to have success.
If he’s given the time and the Jaguars prove that they are committed to winning with him, Bieniemy could potentially help Lawrence grow and thrive while also helping Jacksonville field a much-improved team.
He’s been able to learn from Andy Reid’s brilliance and he himself has a great offense to run with. Bieniemy is too good of an offensive coordinator for a team like Jacksonville with a quarterback like Lawrence for them to ignore.
