Michigan football: Jim Harbaugh predicts Aidan Hutchinson will be first-overall pick in 2022 NFL Draft

As everyone knows, things change ahead of the NFL Draft. Entering the season, Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux was viewed as the consensus No. 1 pick in the 2022 class. But with Oregon out of the playoff picture, and Michigan in it, Hutchinson’s gained some serious steam.

Hutchinson has been a beast lined up on the edge, showing his ability to run through opposing offensive tackles to get to the quarterback. The senior logged 14 sacks on the year, which is the most ever recorded by a Michigan player in a single-season in the program’s lengthy history.

The defensive end’s play helped Michigan defeat Ohio State for the first time since 2011, win their first Big Ten Championship Game ever, and clinched a spot in the College Football Playoff Semifinals. Hutchinson has the opportunity to further increase his stock in the Orange Bowl against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Whoever holds the first-overall pick, whether it’s the Lions, Houston Texans or Jacksonville Jaguars, they could very well have to make a difficult choice between Hutchinson and Thibodeaux.
