Desmond Howard rips former Ohio State assistant coach Zach Smith over his NSFWĀ insultĀ of the Michigan football legend and Heisman Trophy winner.

Former Ohio State assistant coach Zach Smith tried to go after Michigan football legend Desmond Howard on Twitter, and that attempt of a takedown failed miserably for all the world to see.

Smith is the disgraced former assistant from Urban Meyer’s tenure of the Ohio State football program. He is the grandson of Meyer’s mentor and former Ohio State head coach Earle Bruce. While Smith’s coaching career fell apart, Howard remains a staple on ESPN’s College GameDay. Smith called Howard dumb and classless in his tweet. Howard responded with a jab of his own.

This is officially the second big win Michigan has had over Ohio State this college football season.

Desmond Howard claps back at Zach Smith’s NSWF insult of him over Twitter

Even though Ohio State gets to play in the Rose Bowl this season, the Buckeyes did not win the Big Ten, let alone the Big Ten East. Michigan won the head-to-head battle in Ann Arbor amidst the snowfall. The Wolverines had no issues whatsoever getting past the Iowa Hawkeyes in Indianapolis. With 12 wins and a Big Ten title, the Wolverines made the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State may have only had a down year, but it is Michigan who is still alive with a chance at winning a national championship. Of course, Michigan will have to beat Georgia and presumably Alabama in succession to earn the ultimate prize. Ohio State needs to get past a feisty Utah Utes team in Pasadena to taste the roses on New Year’s Day. It is just not as sweet as a championship.

Howard’s response to Smith’s NSFW insult of him over Twitter was both a clever and classy one.
