5 ideal transfer destinations for USC QB Kedon Slovis
By John Buhler
Former USC Trojans starting quarterback Kedon Slovis has entered the transfer portal.
With the USC football program in a bit of transition under new head coach Lincoln Riley, former Trojans starting quarterback Kedon Slovis has opted to enter the transfer portal this offseason.
The under-recruited signal-caller from Scottsdale, Arizona put up strong numbers over the course of three seasons in Los Angeles. While his time at USC coincided with the eventual downfall of former head coach Clay Helton, Slovis more than demonstrated he can be a quality starting quarterback in Division I. As to where he could end up, here are some teams in the mix for him.
It would not be shocking if Slovis ended up transferring to one of these five programs for 2022.
Kedon Slovis transfers: 5 landing spots for former USC Trojans starting QB
Ole Miss needs to replace Matt Corral at quarterback for the 2022 college season
While the Ole Miss Rebels did not recruit Slovis out of high school, Lane Kiffin does have USC ties and did have great success with a West Coast quarterback running his offense. With Matt Corral turning pro after this season, Ole Miss is absolutely in the market for a transfer quarterback. Slovis would be the perfect stop-gap in Oxford, as Ole Miss looks to win the Arch Manning sweepstakes.
Matt Campbell had great success with Arizona native quarterback Brock Purdy
Again, Iowa State did not recruit Slovis out of high school, but Cyclones head coach Matt Campbell has to recognize the quarterbacking talent that emanates from Arizona. His longtime starting quarterback Brock Purdy hails from the same state as Slovis. With him probably turning pro, Campbell can add a proven Power Five starter in Slovis to contend in the Big 12 race once again.
While Ole Miss and Iowa State are excellent landing spots for Slovis in the portal, these three programs are a bit more likely to land him in this offseason recruiting cycle.
