6. Marvin Jones Jr.: EDGE, American Heritage, Fort Lauderdale, FL (No. 22 nationally, No. 2 position, No. 4 state)

Marvin Jones Jr. named his top five about a month out from Early Signing Day: Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Interestingly, Texas A&M is the one of the five that did not get an official visit from him. Jones opted to go to USC instead upon Lincoln Riley leaving Norman for Los Angeles. USC is in the mix, but Alabama, Florida State and Georgia are the leaders.

With Dan Lanning leaving Georgia for Oregon, the Dawgs feel like third out of the three “finalists” for his commitment. Then again, he will have visited Athens the most recently. Staying in-state and playing for the Seminoles makes sense, but Mike Norvell’s program is not where Kirby Smart has Georgia or where Nick Saban has Alabama. Jones’ namesake father is a Florida State legend.

Prediction: Florida State

5. Denver Harris: CB, North Shore, Houston, TX (No. 17 nationally, No. 3 position, No. 5 state)

Denver Harris is likely to stay in-state or go play for Alabama. The five-star cornerback from Houston has 38 official offers, but is looking hard at playing for either Alabama, Texas or Texas A&M. While he has not taken an official visit to College Station, Harris took an unofficial on Nov. 20. This was followed up by a home visit from Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher back on Dec. 4.

Though Harris had some interest in LSU at least initially, the Tigers are not in the mix to land him. Playing for an rebuilding Texas program could be appealing, but Texas A&M has a great thing going on the recruitment trails under Fisher. Of course, it is hard to turn down an opportunity to play in the defensive backfield for Nick Saban. Expect for Harris to pick between either SEC West school.

Prediction: Texas A&M
