Independent Wrestler Hannibal TV attacked a referee with an iron spike.

On Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at the World Class Pro Wrestling Christmas Star Wars event in Irving, TX a match was taking place between Carlito and Hannibal TV (real name Devon Nicholson). After securing the pin and winning the match Hannibal seemed to go off script and attack the referee, Lando Del Toro, with an iron spike, stabbing him in the head several times.

The pair were separated quickly but there were several uncomfortable moments where it was unclear if the attack was planned or not. The full video of the incident shows that the referee was stabbed and stuck by the spike at least a dozen times.

World Class Pro Wrestling owner Jerry Bostic put out a statement on the promotions Facebook page.

“The main thing is that Lando is going to be okay, That doesn’t make anything that happened okay. But that is the main thing,” he said.

Referee Lando Del Toro expected to make a full recovery after attack

Bostic would also clarify that his promotion had reached a decision with regards to Hannibal TV’s actions in the ring.

“Going forward World Class will not be associated with Devon Nicholson, Bloodhunter, or Hannibal TV going forward in any way shape form, or fashion.”

There is a GoFundMe page currently organized to assist Del Toro and his family with his medical expenses. The page has a set goal of $10,000 and has been shared by countless independent wrestling referees and even some signed to WWE and AEW as well.

In the six-minute statement made on the promotion’s Facebook page Bostic also clarifies his involvement as the lead booker for the promotion.

“I didn’t see the actual incident, I didn’t see anything until I came out and saw that he was laying on the ground and it was one of the most horrifying things I have ever seen. To be honest I am not a fan of hardcore wrestling and I trusted that to be taken care of through other channels and that is my fault for trusting.”

Both of the social channels run by Nicholson for his wrestling persona and YouTube channel have been silent over the weekend and no official statement about the incident has been made by Nicholson or any of his team at press time.
