Jim Harbaugh has things rolling with the Michigan football team. Here’s what his next group of Wolverines looks like at the moment.

With all the positive momentum the Michigan football team has at the moment, it’s not shocking that the Wolverines would be doing well on the recruiting front.

Here’s how the 2022 Michigan recruiting class looks.

Michigan football top 2022 recruit: Will Johnson, CB (Grosse Pointe, MI)

The Wolverines have found a way to keep one of the best defensive backs in the country playing in his home state. Will Johnson, a five-star cornerback from Grosse Point, has the potential to be a star for Michigan’s defense.

Michigan football recruiting strengths and weaknesses

The Wolverines have loaded up on defense in this recruiting class. It looks like Harbaugh and company are putting an emphasis on having a great defense with the way they’ve secured commitments on that side of the ball. Where could the Wolverines use some help? Well, this recruiting class isn’t exactly loaded at quarterback as the Wolverines have just one commitment there. But that might be all Harbaugh feels he needs.

Diamond in the rough for Michigan football: Kenneth Grant, DL (Merrillville, IN)

Michigan has a pretty solid group of defensive linemen in this recruiting class and that includes Kenneth Grant, a stout defensive lineman from Merrillville, Indiana. Grant weighs in at 6-foot-4 and 335 pounds, making him a tough force to block.

Where does Michigan football rank nationally and in the Big Ten in recruiting?

According to 247 Sports, the Wolverines have one of the best recruiting classes in the country. At the moment, the class ranks as the 10th-best nationally. That’s pretty good. In the Big Ten, Michigan has the third-best class, ranking behind Ohio State and Penn State.

This group may be third in the Big Ten, but it looks really solid all around.
