With cases once again rising, the Ohio State vs. Kentucky game on Saturday has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

For fans hoping to see a matchup of two Top 25 teams this weekend, it’s not going to be happening. On Saturday, No. 21 Kentucky and No. 15 Ohio State were all set to dance in what was expected to be a see-saw battle.

On Thursday, it was announced that the game has officially been postponed due to COVID concerns. Unfortunately, we’re seeing cases rise again and more and more contests are being pushed back. It’s rough news, but the hope is this helps things from spreading.

Ohio State vs. Kentucky will not be played on Saturday

For the Buckeyes, they’ve started off the year pretty darn hot, though fans were pretty disappointed with the two losses. The first came to unranked Xavier, while the second was suffered against No. 23 Florida.

Despite that, the team has been able to record some massive wins, of course highlighted by taking down No. 1 Duke. As of this writing, the Buckeyes are in second place of the Big Ten standings with their 8-2 record.

As for Kentucky, the SEC squad is 7-2 on the year, losing to Duke and Notre Dame. The Wildcats have been led by forward Oscar Tshiebwe, who is scoring more than 16 points a game. TyTy Washington Jr. is right around 14 points a night too.

As excited as folks were for this matchup, we’re going to have to wait for this to be rescheduled for some time later in the season. Again, it’s a bit of a bummer that it won’t be taking place on Saturday, but safety is the name of the game here. With rising COVID cases, this feels like the right move to be made.
