Who is UAB in college football?
UAB has been a great story in college football but they might not be the most well-known program.

Despite that, they aren’t a Power 5 program and, overall, they do lack a bit of notoriety.
So let’s answer some of the common questions from college football fans who are unfamiliar regarding UAB and who they are.
Who is UAB in college football?
The acronym might confuse you but it’s pretty simple. UAB is the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a branch of the state’s public university system located in the state’s capital.
UAB mascot: What are the Blazers?
When you look at the scoreboard on TV broadcasts, the mascot is featured as a dragon. But while it would be cool if they were the dragons, alas, that’s not the case.
Instead, they are the UAB Blazers. While they utilize the dragon, the university actually voted on the nickname and mascot in the 1970s and came up with Blazers because they wanted to “blaze” a trail in college athletics.
