The venue that hosts the College World Series is getting some new branding. What was once known as “TD Ameritrade Park” will be getting a new name.
The stadium that hosts the College World Series is officially getting a new name. College baseball fans should bid a fond farewell to “TD Ameritrade Park” and give a nice, warm greeting to “Charles Schwab Field.”
In a news release published Monday, the Charles Schwab Corporation announced that it would hold on to the naming rights to the venue where the College World Series is played until at least 2029. According to the news release, Charles Schwab got those naming rights as part of the deal when it bought the Omaha-based TD Ameritrade.
The location the College World Series takes place in won’t be changing, but the signage on the stadium will be. According to the news release, the signage change that will feature “Charles Schwab branding” will help represent “Schwab’s long-term commitment to the community.”
College World Series: ‘TD Ameritrade Park’ to be renamed to ‘Charles Schwab Field Omaha’
With the name change, the Mississippi State Bulldogs are officially the last team to win the College World Series with the venue bearing the name “TD Ameritrade Park.” The South Carolina Gamecocks were the first team to win the championship at the venue when it opened back in 2011.
The name change will officially take place ahead of the 2022 college baseball season.
Charles Schwab Field Omaha is home to more than just the College World Series. The Creighton Bluejays baseball team also plays its home games there in Omaha.
