Lions place Jared Goff on COVID list following big win
Fresh off a stunning win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the Lions have placed quarterback Jared Goff on the COVID list.
Can’t the Detroit Lions experience joy for more than 24 hours? In what’s been a year to forget for new head coach Dan Campbell, the Lions were actually able to celebrate in style on Sunday after they shockingly beat the Arizona Cardinals. However, the celebrations were short lived.
That’s because the team announced on Monday that quarterback Jared Goff has been placed on the COVID list. His status for the Week 16 showdown with the Atlanta Falcons is now up in the air.

Seriously, haven’t the good folks over in Detroit suffered enough? People thought they’d be able to relax for a little bit and enjoy the win over Arizona. Remember, the Cardinals are in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, but the Lions truly dominated them.
In that win, Goff put on a show, as he finished the contest with 216 yards and three touchdowns. He was on point, completing 21-of-26 passes. It was the kind of game people expected to see from him from the moment it was announced the Lions were receiving him in the blockbuster Matthew Stafford trade.
With Goff playing well, the Lions have actually won two of their last three games after starting the season 0-11-1. The hope is that he’ll be good to go for the Week 16 matchup with Atlanta. On the year, Goff has thrown for 3,007 yards, 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Yes, it has been a rough campaign for Detroit, but the guys will be ready to close things out on a high note. They’ll need Goff on the field to make that happen.
