Steph Curry has no problem calling himself ‘greatest shooter’ after breaking record
Steph Curry has pretty clearly been the best shooter ever for some time but the Warriors star is finally now comfortable calling himself that.
It’s certainly been a December to remember for Steph Curry. The Golden State Warriors superstar set the NBA’s all-time 3-point record at Madison Square Garden recently, confirming what fans have long known: He’s the greatest shooter that the game has ever seen.
But now, even Curry is ready to admit that now that he has the record.
Heading into the Chase Center for his first game at home since he took hold of the all-time 3-point record, Curry had all the swagger with a custom “2,974” letter jacket to, so to speak, toot his own horn about being the best of all time.
Oh yeah — he also echoed what his jacket said by saying that he no longer has an issue calling himself the “greatest shooter” in NBA history since he has the spot in the record books to prove it.

The jacket itself is pretty awesome. There are a number of little details that really make things set off, but it also stands out that this is nothing like what you’d normally see from Curry.
His comments echo as much, also. Curry has always erred more on the side of humility than arrogance — at least off the court and behind microphones — when talking about himself. Now that he’s in the record books as the best 3-point shooter in NBA history, though, he’s earned the right to talk a little trash and show off some swagger.
Now, if he also starts seeling those 2,974 jackets, he’ll not only be the greatest shooter, Curry will also be substantially richer because those things would likely fly off the shelves.
