Cowboys bold predictions, Dalton Schultz

4. Dalton Schultz will score another touchdown

Last week, the Giants’ defense made a concerted effort to sit deep in coverage to force the Cowboys to beat them without big plays from the likes of Cooper and Lamb. The biggest beneficiary was Schultz. He racked up eight catches for 67 yards and a score against New York on a series of underneath patterns.

In an ideal world, Rivera would set up his defensive to play much more aggressively than the Giants did last week. The shuffling Washington will be required to do because of COVID will force them to be much more conservative than normal.

That sets Schultz up for another busy day. He’s not the NFL’s most explosive athlete at the tight end position, but he is a big body with a nice catch radius for Prescott to leverage down the seam.

That large catch radius is particularly useful for the Cowboys’ offense when it works itself into the red zone. Count on Schultz to find his way into the end zone for another touchdown this week. It won’t be a highlight reel play but it will help Dallas score an easy win in this late-season matchup.
