Duke basketball: 50 best players to play for Coach K
32. Chris Duhon (2000-2004)
Chris Duhon got to Duke ahead of the 2000-01 season, and he wasn’t one to exactly pad the stat sheet, but where he made a name for himself was on the defensive side of the ball. Over the course of his four seasons in Durham, Duhon averaged 8.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.
Duhon started only 10 of Duke’s 39 games his freshman year, but he provided some solid relief off the bench. He averaged 7.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game as he won the ACC Rookie of the Year and helped the Blue Devils win the ACC Regular Season and Tournament titles, as well as their third National Championship.
Over Duhon’s last three seasons with Duke, he would be named to an All-ACC team twice, the All-ACC Tournament team twice, and the ACC All-Defense team twice, as well. Duhon did play nine seasons in the NBA, but wasn’t anything spectacular, with his best year being the 2008-09 season with the Knicks where he averaged 11.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game.
