Duke basketball: 50 best players to play for Coach K
45. Rodney Hood (2012-2014)
Rodney Hood played only one season at Duke after transferring from Mississippi State ahead of the 2012-13 season, which forced him to sit out for the entirety of the 2013-14 season due to transfer rules. With that, Hood’s lone season at Duke was the 2013-14 season, and in that one season with the Blue Devils, he made an incredible impact.
During that season, Hood averaged 16.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, which was good enough for the second-team All-ACC, and he was also named to the 2014 All-ACC Tournament team, where he averaged 14.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.7 rebounds per game.
Hood also helped lead the Blue Devils to a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament, where unfortunately Duke would lose in the first round to Mercer. Since leaving Durham, Hood has put together an impressive NBA career where, in eight seasons thus far he averages 11.0 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.
