42. Brandon Ingram (2015-16)

Brandon Ingram was the third-ranked player from the Class of 2015, which meant he had high expectations placed upon him coming into his freshman year. Not only did he have high expectations placed upon him, but the Blue Devils were coming off of a National Championship, meaning Duke fans’ expectations for the 2015-16 team were sky-high.

Ingram played only one season in Durham but was impressive, averaging 17.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. Ingram won the 2015-16 ACC Rookie of the Year Award, and also was named to the All-ACC Second Team.

Unfortunately for Ingram and Duke, the Blue Devils lost in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament and in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Ingram has since put together a solid NBA career, and was named to the 2016-17 All-Rookie Team, was the 2019-20 Most Improved Player, and was also an All-Star in 2020-21. Ingram has averaged 18.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game over the course of his five seasons in the NBA.
