Wide Receivers

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams-$8,400

Jefferson didn’t have a huge game in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears (four catches for 47 yards), but he did have a touchdown on 10 targets. He has scored with double-digit targets in three straight games, and he has double-digit targets in five of the last six games and a touchdown in five of the last seven.

The Los Angeles Rams are a mid-pack-to-favorable matchup for wide receivers this season. However, Jefferson will surely draw plenty of top cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who may shadow him if the Vikings remain without Adam Thielen.

Regardless, the Vikings are sure to be in a negative game script against the Rams on Sunday. So Jefferson is sitting on a potentially huge game, and I do mean “huge.”

Russell Gage, Atlanta Falcons vs. Detroit Lions-$6,700

Gage has at least six targets and 9.9 full PPR fantasy points in five straight games and more than 60 yards in four straight, with double-digit targets (at least 11) and more than 90 yards in two of the last three. He has also scored a touchdown in two of the last four games. Every way you slice it says production.

In Week 16 Gage gets the Detroit Lions, who have allowed the 10th-most receiving yards to wide receivers this season (165.9 per game) despite facing lower-end target and catch volume.

Gage is the Falcons’ No.1 wide receiver, and he benefits from the attention paid to Kyle Pitts.

Gabriel Davis, Buffalo Bills at New England Patriots-$5,300

Davis extended his scoring streak to three games against the Carolina Panthers in Week 15, with five catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Emmanuel Sanders (knee) has vacated the No. 2 receiver role for Buffalo over the last game and a half or so, and Davis has 15 targets over the last two games.

It’s a pretty tough matchup in Week 16 against the New England Patriots. But Davis started his touchdown streak against them back in Week 13, and his role has grown since then. Even if Sanders plays, Davis has earned more snaps. The absence of slot receiver Cole Beasley for Sunday will open up extra targets.

There’s some touchdown boom-or-bust for Davis, in this or any week. But the value is too good to pass up here.
