Los Angeles Rams: Torry Holt
In the greatest stretch of seasons in Rams history with The Greatest Show on Turf from 1999-01, the likes of Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, and Issac Bruce got the lump sum of the attention. Torry Holt, though, was an incredible receiver.
Holt had a solid year in 1999 as a rookie when the Rams won the Super Bowl. He caught 52 passes for 788 yards and six touchdowns. 2000 was a big season for him, though. He led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,635 yards on 82 receptions. Holt repeated as a Pro Bowler in 2001. He caught 81 passes for over 1,300 yards and seven touchdowns as the Rams made another trip to the Super Bowl.
Holt’s best seasons came after the glory years of the late 1990s and early 2000s. In 2003, Holt was an All-Pro selection for the first time. He led the league in receptions and yards that season. That began a streak of five consecutive Pro Bowl appearances for Holt. He was one of the best receivers of the 2000s, he just had the bad luck of playing for some bad Rams teams during that time span.
