New York Giants: Plaxico Burress

Speaking of receivers who shockingly never made a Pro Bowl in their career, did you know Plaxico Burress never made it to the Pro Bowl? We need a list of really good receivers who somehow never got recognized for their talents.

Not only did Burress never make it to the Pro Bowl, he caught the game-winning touchdown of Super Bowl XLII and all anyone can ever talk about is a guy who pinned the ball to his damn helmet- poor Plaxico.

Burress made a name for himself with the Steelers from 2000-04. The wide receiver out of Michigan State had two consecutive seasons of over 1,000 yards receiving with Pittsburgh. In 2004, his production took quite the dip. He only caught 35 passes in 11 games, and he left for the Giants in 2005. In his first season with the Giants, he caught 76 passes for 1,214 yards and seven touchdowns. He had 988 yards in 2006 and 1,025 yards in 2007.

Burress was a vital part of the Giants’ success and should get talked about more when the Super Bowl run is discussed. While things went south because of the whole shooting himself in the leg by accident thing, he doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
