Carolina Panthers: Muhsin Muhammad

Muhsin Muhammad was one of the most reliable receivers of the 2000s, and he also had one of the best names in all of sports.

He was drafted by the Panthers in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft, and he became one of the focal points of the offense for a decade. He was named a Pro Bowler for the first time in 1999, catching 96 passes for over 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns. The following season in 2000, Muhammad led the NFL with 102 receptions. Somehow, he wasn’t selected to the Pro Bowl that season.

Muhammad was named an All-Pro for the first time in 2004. He led the NFL in receiving yards with 1,405. He also led the league with 16 receiving touchdowns. Muhammad wasn’t brought back to the Panthers after his career year. Steve Smith was emerging as the future star in Carolina, and Muhammad was aging. He signed with the Bears in 2005 and was part of the Bears team that went to Super Bowl XLI.

Muhammad was nothing but solid and consistent in his NFL career, and he is one of the best Panthers of all time.
