Look: SMU football equipment truck gets stuck between bridges on highway
SMU football is heading to Fenway Park for their bowl game but the Mustangs’ equipment truck hit a bit of a snag on the highway trying to get there.
Though things got slightly off the rails late in the season after a hot start for SMU football, the Mustangs are still going bowling as they prepare to face the Virginia Cavaliers in the Fenway Bowl which, as you might’ve guessed, will be played at vaunted Fenway Park in Boston.
A trip to Fenway from Dallas is certainly not a short one for the SMU football program but it seemingly got even longer for the Mustangs equipment truck making the trek up to the northeast.
While traveling, the truck got on the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut between Stamford and New Haven. And in doing so, it somehow got stuck in-between 10-foot bridges that it could not clear due to the height of the equipment truck.
SMU football truck gets stuck en route to Fenway Bowl
Mustangs fans are certainly hoping that this won’t be an omen for what’s to come in the matchup against UVA.
Luckily for SMU fans, that likely won’t be the case. The Fenway Bowl is a matchup that features two of the most prolific offenses in the country. Contrarily, the two teams also have pretty lackluster defenses to complement their attacks, which might also be putting it kindly for that side of the ball.
First things, first, though, the SMU equipment truck needs to get off of Merritt Parkway and find it’s way on the right side of the Green Monster.
