Steelers: 3 Ben Roethlisberger replacements no one is talking about

Steelers: Could Kirk Cousins trade be in Pittsburgh’s future?
Cousins would force the Steelers to take on a tough contract, but they’ll have the salary cap room come next season. It’s why they’ve been linked to signal-callers in high demand like Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers.
If the Steelers would rather add a more affordable, yet still-capable quarterback, Cousins makes some sense. He’s under-appreciated in Minnesota, as the Vikings drafted Kellen Mond early last year for a reason.
Cousins puts up big numbers but routinely comes up short in key moments. Some of that, though, is merely a lack of opportunity. In Pittsburgh, a city that prioritizes winning football, Cousins would have the pieces in place to go on a playoff run.
A great running back? What about Najee Harris. A solid receiving corps? Sure, Diontae Johnson and Co. should cut it. Add in Pat Freiermuth just for fun, and a capable defense led by T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Is it a perfect fit? Not so much, no. But it’s worth a shot.
