Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson was carted off the field after suffering a non-contact left ankle injury.

The Jacksonville Jaguars looked to earn their third win of the season in Week 16 as they faced the New York Jets. Early on in the game, the Jaguars lost one of their top offensive players early.

In the first half, Jacksonville running back James Robinson went down with a non-contact injury to his left ankle. After being helped to the medical tent, Robinson was carted off the field with a towel over his head.

The Jaguars immediately ruled Robinson out for the remainder of the game for what was described as an Achilles injury. Then, NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that Robinson had suffered a torn Achilles.

Robinson joined the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent last season. He was a bright spot of the team’s one-win 2020 campaign, where he rushed for 1,070 yards and seven touchdowns on 240 carries through 14 games.

This year, Robinson started in 12-of-13 games entering Week 16. In those appearances, Robinson ran for 757 yards and eight touchdowns on 161 carries, while catching 31-of-46 targets for 222 yards.
