Giants might already have two Dave Gettleman replacements in mind

The New York Giants could potentially move off general manager Dave Gettleman at the end of the season.
While it is season over for the 2021 New York Giants, the organization remains dead-set on keeping Joe Judge as head coach and Daniel Jones at quarterback, but could look to move off Dave Gettleman as their general manager.
FanSided‘s Matt Lombardo reports is Gettleman either retires or is fired, two names to keep an eye on when it comes to his potential successor are John Dorsey and Alonzo Highsmith. Dorsey has been an NFL general manager twice over with the Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns. Highsmith also stems from the same Ron Wolf/Ted Thompson Green Bay Packers scouting tree.
Would either Dorsey or Highsmith be the right front office executive to fix the struggling G-Men?

For Dorsey, he has built a reputation as an elite evaluator of talent but is absolutely horrendous with the salary cap. Many of his draft picks in recent years are why the Chiefs and Browns are among the most talented teams in the AFC. However, Giants fans should be weary of hiring a retread general manager, especially with how catastrophically bad the Gettleman hiring has been.
As for Highsmith, he works under John Schneider in Seattle and could be a candidate to build a team if the right job opens up. While the Giants would, in theory, be a great organization to align oneself with, why would a first-time general manager want to hitch his wagon to Judge and Jones? A clean slate is the best way to ensure a first-time general manager of having success.
Clearly, the Giants are looking to replace Gettleman with someone who shares the same roster construction beliefs of the iconic Wolf and the late Thompson of Green Bay fame.
