NC State football player claims UCLA players voted not to play Holiday Bowl

One NC State football player claims the UCLA football team voted not to play in the Holiday Bowl.
While everyone should celebrate the Holiday Bowl, one NC State football player is miffed about the UCLA football team not being able to play hours before kickoff.
The UCLA Bruins were reportedly decimated along the defensive line due to COVID and could not play in the iconic Holiday Bowl in sunny San Diego, California. While San Diego is two hours from Los Angeles, it is a cross-country flight from Raleigh. This would have been the first bowl game the Bruins would have played during the Chip Kelly era. Now, we must wait another year for it.
Here is what NC State wide receiver Thayer Thomas quote tweeted out of frustration about the game getting canceled in the 11th hour.
NC State football player accuses UCLA of ducking Wolfpack in Holiday Bowl
It is easy to understand why NC State players like Thomas are mad about what transpired in San Diego. This could go down as the biggest travesty to happen to San Diego football since the Chargers left town. At least the Punt GAWD is still around, oh wait, Matt Araiza is turning pro. Regardless, NC State should be able to play somebody this bowl season after this cancelation.
The Wolfpack went 9-3 and finished the regular season ranked inside of the top 25. They were this close to winning their first division title since the ACC split itself in half to form the Atlantic and the Coastal Divisions. With more and more bowl games getting canceled, perhaps there is still time for NC State to get a new opponent and play somebody to end their season on a high note?
Too bad UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson hit Thayer with a reply tweet to only exacerbate things.
With Dillon Gabriel transferring over from UCF, is this how DTR’s UCLA career comes to an end?
If there was ever a time for NC State and UCLA to schedule a future home-and-home, it is now.
