Jaire Alexander news Packers fans have been waiting for is in
The Green Bay Packers secondary is about to get even better, with the team activating star cornerback Jaire Alexander off of Injured Reserve.
How could things possibly get even better for the Green Bay Packers? The team currently holds the No. 1 seed in the NFC with their 12-3 record. Life is good. Oh, and they’re about to welcome back an All-Pro playmaker for the defense.
That’s right, on Wednesday head coach Matt LaFleur announced that stud cornerback Jaire Alexander will be activated off Injured Reserve. Today was the deadline to make the decision, and this news is obviously being celebrated by Packers fans everywhere.
Jaire Alexander activated off Injured Reserve is huge for the Packers
With the Packers eyeing a Super Bowl run, getting Alexander back in the fold is massive. The defensive back injured his shoulder during the Week 4 win going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Things were so bad for him, a trip to IR was needed.
Plenty of folks were worried that Alexander would be lost for the season, but Wednesday’s update has put the kibosh on those thoughts. There’s simply no denying Alexander is a true playmaker for this team. Fortunately for Green Bay, they’ve been able to play quite well even without him in action.
The Packers are among the favorites to take home the Lombardi Trophy this year. It’d sure be sweet to see Aaron Rodgers get that job done, especially after he just broke Brett Favre’s record for most Packers TDs this past weekend.
Rodgers and the offense are looking as explosive as ever. Now, it’ll be on the defense to take things to the next level once the postseason arrives. Getting Alexander back is only going to make that task much easier for Green Bay.
