Steelers rumors: Ben Roethlisberger making arrangements for final home game

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is making preparations for his final home game at Heinz Field, per reports.

While it was pretty much known since the start of the season, Roethlisberger is likely to retire in two weeks’ time, unless the Steelers make the playoffs.

Yet, during the season, Roethlisberger played well enough at times to make fans question whether or not he should actually call it quits.

After an embarrassing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, Big Ben’s fate is clearer than ever. Per

of the Chris Wormley Show and previously AT&T Sportsnet, Roethlisberger is making arrangements to have his close friends and family at his final home game:

"“Reports swirling that Big Ben asked plenty of former players and more close family to be in attendance Monday Night for what would be his last home game. This would confirm what we basically already know – this is it for 7.”"

Steelers: Is Ben Roethlisberger really retiring?

After a midseason win over the rival Ravens, Roethlisberger was asked again about his plans for the end of the season. He didn’t give anything away.

“I haven’t told everybody that, no,” Roethlisberger said laughing via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor. “Honestly, we just got done with this game, I’m exhausted. We play in a couple hours, it feels like. That’s my focus. My focus is on Minnesota and what we have to do to get ready.
“I’ll address any of that stuff after the season. I’ve always been a one-game-at-a-time, one-season-at-a-time person. I’m going to stay that way.”

Yet, it appears Roethlisberger has finally let his plans slip. Even his Steelers teammates and coaches are willing to discuss their favorite memories of playing with him.
