Baker Mayfield says Browns drama ‘in the building’ has been tough to ignore
The Cleveland Browns need a miracle to make the playoffs and Baker Mayfield clearly has been impacted by all the issues inside the locker room.
In what was supposed to be a memorable year for the Cleveland Browns, it has been, but not for the reasons fans were hoping for. This team likely won’t be in the postseason and there’s been nothing but drama surrounding the players since early on in the fall. No one saw it coming.
Things of course were headlined by Odell Beckham Jr.’s dad blasting Baker Mayfield. Beckham has since been released and he’s now a touchdown machine over in the NFC for the Los Angeles Rams. For Mayfield, he didn’t hesitate in admitting that all of the team’s issues have been rough for him.
Baker Mayfield and the Browns have had a season to forget
Despite Mayfield saying that he’s moved on from things and flushed it, you’ve got to figure not everything is forgotten for him. The whole mess with Beckham was tough to see. Reports came out after that saying that multiple guys on the Browns had had enough of Mayfield as the starter.
To make things worse for the former No. 1 pick, Mayfield’s wife came out and said that the signal-caller had been receiving death threats after the Christmas Day loss to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers last week. Seriously? There’s simply no room for that kind of behavior.
Now, Mayfield will be ready to try and lead Cleveland in a must-win game vs. the Steelers on Monday night. With another loss, it’ll officially end all playoff hopes for the team and more hate will be coming Mayfield’s way. He’ll try to ignore that, but again, it won’t be easy for him.
