21. “The Law Firm” BenJarvus Green-Ellis

Fun fact- former Falcons and Bears receiver Taylor Gabriel says BenJarvus Green-Ellis’ name on every back-swing when he plays golf (or so he says).

Green-Ellis has one of the more fun nicknames on the list because it actually pertains to his name rather than the way he looked or played. Everyone just heard his name and said “Wow, that sounds like a law firm- your new nickname is The Law Firm.” Green-Ellis was a solid player during his career, as well.

He began his time in the NFL with New England in 2008. He was used mostly as a red zone back and scored five touchdowns on just 74 carries throughout the season. In 2010, he became the feature running back in New England’s offense. He rushed for over 1,000 yards and 13 touchdowns. He had a smaller role in 2011, but still put up 11 touchdowns before going to Cincinnati.

In 2012, he rushed for 1,094 yards and six touchdowns in his first season with the Bengals. 2013 would be his final in the NFL after a solid six year career. He was never the best running back in football, but he was a good role player for the Patriots and briefly the feature back for some really good Bengals teams.
