Look: Cotton Bowl refs are already giving Alabama help vs. Cincinnati

The refs at the Cotton Bowl were rather generous when spotting the ball on an Alabama reception.
The Cincinnati Bearcats were looking to pull off the upset of all upsets in the Cotton Bowl — knock off the defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide. As is the case in such a big game, all eyes were on the referees in the College Football Playoff Semifinal matchup.
In the first half, quarterback Bryce Young threw a pass to wide receiver Jameson Williams. Afterwards, did the on-field official give the Tide a bit of extra yardage on the catch? Take a look for yourselves and you decide.
Cotton Bowl refs helping Alabama against Cincinnati?
The referees assigned for the Cotton Bowl Classic at AT&T Stadium are from the Pac-12, which certainly garnered plenty of eye rolls from that conference’s respective fanbases.
You can not say that the 2021 meeting between Alabama and Cincinnati was not an eventful one. Considering how huge of a game it is, the refs will be under the proverbial microscope, especially on plays like this.
