Is Dollar General open on New Years Day?

A new year means the same obstacles and shopping for supplies will always be one of those things. So no matter how hard you rage on New Year’s Eve, the next day is right around the corner and that means back to reality. That means that you’re right back to deadlines, work and shopping. So if you’re looking at getting some quick supplies at a nice price, you may want to hit up Dollar General.

Most places are going to have adjusted hours on New Years Day, due to the fact that it’s a federal holiday and a lot of people are hungover. So you’ll want to call ahead just in case but if you’re worried if Dollar General is going to be open, don’t be. Dollar General is open on New Years Day.

Most Dollar Generals will be keeping pretty normal hours too, with many opening at 8 AM and closing at 9 or 10 PM later in the evening.

What if you can’t get to Dollar General in time on New Years Day?

Yet, what happens if you need something from Dollar General but don’t get there in time? There aren’t a lot of options that late at night but some Walmarts are going to be open until 11 PM that night. Not only that but some CVS and Walgreen pharmacies are open 24 hours, so if you’re really hard up for something, they might have what you need.

If they don’t and you’re super desperate, some gas stations may be open that late as well, so if you’re looking for something to eat or drink, you’ll be able to stop there.

Most places however aren’t going to be open much later than 10 PM, so if you missed out on Dollar General, the next best idea is just to wait until the morning and try again.
