FanSided’s 2021 boxing awards and greatest performances
Boxing roared back from the onset of the pandemic in a big way. As we move into the new year, here are the winners of FanSided’s 2021 boxing awards.
The start of the pandemic in early 2020 impacted everybody. Boxing made do with crowd-less fights on T.V. A sense of normalcy returned along with some incredible performances in the boxing ring, and we’re happy to bring you FanSided’s 2021 boxing awards!
The fourth annual FanSided boxing awards had some help this year. We called on some of the best boxing writers, authors, media personalities, YouTubers, Twitter’s famous #TheChat, and many people in and around the sport to cast their ballots for this year’s winners. Our panel showed out in force and made their voices heard. You will hear from them along with their rationales for each award winner.
Boxing in 2021 featured many unification contests, competitive action, along with several individual performances that will go down in the history books. It was a special year for the sport and proved that boxing is here to stay.
FanSided canvassed all of the boxing performances in 2021 to select the most deserving nominees over eight total categories, which includes Round of Year, Upset of the Year, Knockout of the Year, Fight of the Year, Prospect of the Year, Comeback Fighter of the Year, Trainer of the Year, and Fighter of the Year.
Some of the award winners were runaway favorites, and some initiated a spirited debate, but the votes have been counted, and there is a clear winner in each category.
Enough of the hype. Here are the winners of FanSided’s 2021 boxing awards.
