Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup caught a touchdown against the Cardinals but injured his knee in the process.

Scoring a touchdown is supposed to be a time for celebration. Sadly for Michael Gallup against the Cardinals, the Cowboys celebration was cut short.

Gallup made an impressive grab to put points on the board for a touchdown but he immediately grabbed for his left knee and stayed on the turf after the play was over.

The wide receiver was able to limp off with the help of trainers. However, hopes of it being a minor issue were quickly dashed went the team declared him out for the remainder of the game.

Michael Gallup injury update: Cowboys WR ruled out

The speed it took to determine Gallup couldn’t return to action doesn’t bode well at all for the knee injury. Official word on the severity of the issue will have to come later.

For now, Dallas will have to lean on other receivers in the second half of the game, which could impact the race for the No. 1 seed in the playoffs.

Gallups touchdown came with 90 seconds remaining in the second quarter and pulled the Cowboys to within three points of the visiting Cardinals.

Arizona made it into field goal range and Matt Prater kicked a 53-yarder with three seconds to go to send the teams into halftime at 13-7.
