Anonymous NFL coach stuffs Joe Judge into a locker with brutally honest criticism

An anonymous NFL coach blasted New York Giants head coach Joe Judge following his postgame rant in Week 17.

Just when it seemed things could not get any worse for the New York Giants, Week 17 of the NFL season happened.

The team was embarrassingly blown out by a five-win Chicago Bears team, and head coach Joe Judge made headlines, but not for his coaching decisions on the field. When asked about whether the fan base should have faith in the team during his postgame press conference, Judge went on an 11-minute rant that can be read in full, courtesy of FanSided national NFL insider Matt Lombardo.

Judge not only caught the attention of the Giants fan base and the NFL media world, but also of fellow coaches. An anonymous, veteran coach told The Athletic’s Mike Sando blasted Judge for his postgame press conference.

“To me, it is actually kind of sad,” the veteran coach told Sando. “He wants to be a tough guy, yell at the officials, be a mini-Bill Belichick, and then he starts to crumble under the weight of the New York media. His diatribe sends a message to his team and everyone else that he is starting to feel the pressure.”

Not too long ago, multiple reports indicated that the Giants would retain Judge once the season ended. Ever since, the team suffered brutal loss after brutal loss. And hence why Judge’s answer to the aforementioned question felt like he was speaking more to owner John Mara than to the frustrated fanbase.

Judge was hired back in 2020 after spending years as special teams coordinator of the New England Patriots. Judge’s first season started off rough, but the team showed promise in the second half of the year that nearly resulted in them winning the NFC East. But in 2021, the team dug themselves deep down the NFC standings. Yes, injuries can be attributed to their lackluster play, but the roster construction proved that they are nowhere near close to being playoff contenders.

Through Week 17, Judge holds a 10-22 record.

The team is expected to part ways with general manager Dave Gettleman after the season, whether that is by firing or allowing him to walk away. It will remain to be seen if the reports of Judge’s job being safe will come true, especially if they suffer one last awful loss at home in Week 18  against the Washington Football Team.
