Legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban clearly doesn’t think expanding the College Football Playoff would be the right move.

Come next Monday night, Alabama head coach Nick Saban will be ready to try and add to his unreal Alabama legacy, as he’s hoping to win his seventh National Championship with the Crimson Tide. That’s just unreal.

Leading up to kickoff, however, you already know that the idea of a possible expansion to the College Football Playoff will continue to be a popular topic of conversation. If you ask Saban, he doesn’t think expanding things beyond four teams is such a great idea.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban isn’t a fan of a potential College Football Expansion

“I don’t know that expanding — if this is the best four teams and they played each other, I don’t see the logic in, ‘if we had more teams, there would be better games.’ I don’t know how that adds up,” Saban said this week via Sports Illustrated. “But I’m really not in position to answer that.”

In the team’s semifinal showdown with Cincinnati, Alabama cruised to a 27-6 win. Now, Saban and Co. are all set to meet Kirby Smart and Georgia with the natty on the line. This is the matchup fans have been hoping for.

With that said, the debate on whether or not more than four teams should be fighting for the title at the end of the year continues to rage on. For Saban, having more teams involved would also take away from how special some of the other bowl games are as well.

It’s hard to argue with him there. Right now, however, Saban’s focus isn’t on whether or not more programs will be added to the CFP playoff or not. Instead, he’s ready to try and bring home his seventh National Championship with Alabama, and eighth overall.
